In this action packed arcade shooter, players take control of a variety of helicopters armed with a number of offensive capabilities so they can swoop in and make daring rescues in hot zones. The game features more than 30 missions ranging from straight prisoner extraction to dropping off saboteurs that blow buildings sky high to saving survivors from viral outbreaks.
Pilots must bank, hover, touchdown, and sometimes even shake loose pesky zombies hanging from their choppers. Gamers can also look forward to a few cameos from some of the videogame industry’s most legendary leading men including Duke Nukem and Super Meat Boy. Choplifter HD combines intense action, humor and tons of variety, creating developer inXile Entertainment’s own, fresh take on the original Choplifter experience.
Choplifter HD focuses on a return to old school gaming. It gives gamers a wide variety in regards to missions, choppers and enemies. This 2D side-scroller brings all that excitement and fun back from playing those entertaining and addictive arcade games back in the day. At that time, while the graphics did look sharp for its generation, the attention seemed to be more focused on delivering exciting, fast paced and addictive gameplay. This is where Choplifter HD absolutely shines and follows suit.
Once you learn the fine tuned controls, you will be maneuvering and assaulting hostiles like a boss. Players will have to remain sharp and react quickly to be successful in keeping your chopper intact. These arcade traits are what make the game a blast and a truly rewarding experience. With such relentless enemies it’s a good thing players can upgrade to a higher grade helicopter. This improves speed, allows for increased mobility and helps raise your overall chances of victory.
Arcade junkies will no doubt adore this game. Whether the love comes from shooting for the highest score on the leader boards or the pure enjoyment derived from the old school feel, the attraction of Choplifter HD is undeniable.
