Jordan vs. Bird: One on One was a 1988 basketball video game developed by Electronic Arts and was fairly popular for the Nintendo Entertainment System and Mega Drive/Genesis. It was the sequel to One on One: Dr. J vs. Larry Bird. Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls and Larry Bird of the Boston Celtics were the only two characters in the game. Aside from one on one basketball games, there are also mini-games. This includes a slam dunk contest through the use of air Jordan himself and a three point contest utilizing Bird’s ability to score behind the line.

It was definitely simplistic in design and features but included two of the biggest names in the sport going head to head. It’s amazing how far the industry has advanced in both graphics and gameplay. However, classics like this and Double Dribble will never be forgotten.
