Nintendo Flashback: Castlevania Dracula X

Join BootHammer as we slash our way through Castlevania: Dracula X for our latest Nintendo Flashback. Castlevania: Dracula X is the Super NES semi-remake/semi-sequel of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, which was previously released on the PC Engine (a version never released outside of Japan). Instead of being a straight remake, this title should instead be considered both a remake and a sequel, though most people consider it a straight port. It shares the same gameplay and storyline of Rondo of Blood, but the levels had been completely redesigned.

It is the year 1792 (but, “Several hundred years have passed since legendary hero Simon Belmont defeated the evil Count Dracula” in the manual) and the evil Count Dracula has been resurrected. This time he has kidnapped the girlfriend of Richter Belmont, Annette, and her little sister, Maria. Enraged by this, Richter sets out to save both his girlfriend and his girlfriend’s little sister, as well as to put an end to Dracula.

Avid gamer who enjoys the older nostalgic titles as much as the newest AAA releases. Remakes from the classic 8 and 16 bit era are some my absolute favorite titles. I also enjoy experiencing new IP's on each and every platform, especially when the creators give the game an artistic look and unique presentation never seen before. I've been lucky enough to start out gaming on the NES. Since this rebirth of the industry, I have witnessed the evolution of gaming, both in its incredible growth in overall popularity and as an entertainment medium juggernaut. With the next generation of gaming upon us, there simply hasn't been a better time to be a gamer and I can't wait to experience all that it has to offer.
